What is PEG
PEG stands for
Public, Educational, and Government Access Television. It is a community-driven platform that allows residents, educators, and city leaders to share stories, information, and ideas directly with the public.
PEG programming is local, non-commercial, and focused on public service. It gives the people of Jackson a space to learn, connect, and participate in civic life.
It is a powerful platform designed to:
- Keep residents connected through live and recorded City Council meetings, budget hearings, public meetings and important city updates
- Support education with youth-focused content
- Highlight the people and stories that make Jackson a vibrant place to live
PEG is Jackson’s digital town square. It is open, informative, and made for the community.

Rules for Airing on PEG Public Access
City of Jackson PEG Network – Public Access Guidelines
The City of Jackson encourages community participation through its PEG Public Access Channel. If you are a resident, organization, or community partner with content to share, we invite you to submit your programming for review. To ensure quality, fairness, and compliance with public standards, the following rules apply to all submissions.
Who Can Submit
Public Access programming is open to:
- City of Jackson residents
- Jackson-based nonprofits, schools, and civic groups
- Independent producers or content creators with local relevance
- Local government agencies and educational institutions
All content must be non-commercial and community-focused.
Who Can Submit
Eligible content includes:
- Community news and storytelling
- Arts, culture, and creative projects
- Educational or informational programs
- Public forums or community roundtables
- Local event coverage
- Historical or cultural features relevant to Jackson
Content Standards
To maintain a safe and respectful platform, all programs must adhere to the following:
- No Commercial Advertising
Content cannot promote for-profit businesses, products, or services.
- No Profanity, Obscenity, or Graphic Content
Programs must be appropriate for a general audience.
- No Defamation, Hate Speech, or Threats
Content must not include discriminatory, abusive, or threatening language or imagery.
- No Copyright Infringement
You must own or have permission to use all music, video, graphics, and media included in your submission.
- No Religious Proselytizing or Political Campaigning
Faith-based and civic content is welcome, but promotional or campaign content is not permitted on Public Access channels.
- Time Limit
Individual programs must be no longer than 60 minutes unless otherwise approved in advance.
PEG staff reserves the right to decline or request edits to any submission that does not
comply with these standards.
