The Department of Public Works enhances quality of life for residents and visitors through well-planned, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective infrastructure investments. The Engineering Division provides professional engineering, architectural, landscape architectural, and floodplain development management services in addition to enforcing the floodplain ordinance and National Flood Insurance Program regulations for the city. Additional duties include the design and construction of a wide variety of capital improvement projects throughout the city. Projects range from drainage improvements, street construction, traffic signal improvements, city buildings, city parks. This division also provides in-house professional services for support of maintenance activities and to other departments.
